Andrew Tran
Family Attorney
Andrew Tran was admitted to the California Bar in 2014. He has been exclusively practicing family law for the past 5 years now. Being a Northern California native, Andrew decided to move to Southern California to attend the University of California, Irvine where he initially majored in Biology. Shortly thereafter, Andrew found an affinity to the field of law and quickly changed his major to Criminal, Law, and Society, ultimately leading to a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal, Law, and Society.
After attending UC Irvine, Andrew began his legal career by returning to Northern California where he worked as a law clerk at a Bankruptcy and Taxation law office and gained extensive experience in both fields of law.
Andrew returned to Southern California in order to pursue his legal education at Whittier Law School. There, he excelled in both his Family Law and Community Property law classes, and even became the runner-up in the highly competitive Susan E. McGuigan Oral Advocacy Competition for first-year law students. Andrew was also heavily involved in the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and interned for a local family law practice located in Santa Ana.
After obtaining his Juris Doctorate, Andrew volunteered for the Domestic Violence Restraining Order Clinic in the Superior Court located in Chula Vista, California while studying for the California State Bar. He worked on a pro-bono basis helping those in need with their domestic violence disputes. While awaiting his bar results, Andrew worked as a law clerk for a prominent family law firm in downtown San Diego known as Hargreaves & Taylor, LLP. During his time at Hargreaves & Taylor, LLP, he assisted with trials and overall legal strategy. Upon passing the bar in February 2014, Andrew worked for various family law firms in Los Angeles County, Orange County, and San Diego County where he gained extensive family law experience.
Andrew’s experience with Los Angeles County, Orange County, Riverside County, and San Diego County makes him a versatile individual with knowledge of local rules from all four counties. Andrew has experience with all areas of family law, including dissolution of marriage, mediation, legal separation, child custody and visitation, grandparent visitation, move-away requests, child and spousal support, support arrears, domestic violence restraining orders, and post-judgment modifications.
Andrew is considered by both his peers and his clients to be a compassionate advocate. He takes a reasonable and cost-efficient approach to all of his cases as he is sensitive to his client’s financial needs but, at the same time, not sacrificing the quality of his legal services.
In his off time, Andrew enjoys the outdoors, especially going to the beach with his wife and friends. He lives a very active and healthy lifestyle and frequents the gym on a regular basis.
